Insider's Insight into Microsoft's 12 Days of Deals

Day 1 of Microsoft's 12 Days of Deals resulted in more complaint than praise. On Day 1, Microsoft sold the Dell Venue 8 Pro for $99 for the first 20 through the door at their physical locations and the first 100 who were able to order online. Their store web site went down right at the start of the sale day at 10am, and those that couldn't get in on the $99 deal voiced frustration that Microsoft should have been better prepared. You can read more about that HERE.

Day 2 opened with lackluster results. Today, Microsoft offered a Garmin Forerunner 110 GPS Watch and a $25 Microsoft store gift card for just $99 total. While the deal is still phenomenal, and the deal did sell out, it just wasn't as exciting as the Dell tablet.

However, for many, planning a trip to a Microsoft store during a work week so close to the holiday season is a bit rough. That usually suggests personal time off, or taking a sick day just to stand in line to acquire one of the many deals during Microsoft's promotion. It would be much easier if folks knew when, exactly, to take a couple, early hours off work and then arrive late. Blame it on the weather or traffic, no one would be the wiser, right?

When you visit the Microsoft store each day during the promotion, a banner is refreshed each morning that states today's deal and then announces the deal for the next day. This means that the Microsoft store employees know exactly what will be offered on each day.

If you visit the 12 Days of Deals web site, you can click on each day and it will produce a pop-up showing a picture of that day's deal. However, you either have to know exactly what you're looking at, or be a better guesser than Uri Geller.
