How do I install the Point To Point Tunneling Server?

A. Windows NT Server contains the Point To Point Tunneling Protocolas standard and to install perform the following:
Start the Network Control Panel Applet (Start - Settings - Control Panel -Network or right click on Network Neighborhood and select Properties)
Select the Protocols tab
Click Add
Select "Point To Point Tunneling Protocol"
Click OK
You will be asked for the installation media. Enter the location and clickContinue. If RAS is not currently installed it will be installed at this point.
You will be asked for the number of private networks and click OK
The Add RAS Device dialog will be displayed. Select "VPN1 -RASPPTMPM" and click OK. By default the connection will be configured toreceive calls only, to change click Configure. Keep clicking Add to add moreVPN devices (VPN2 etc.) Click Continue when all VPN devices have been added.
Select TCP/IP options for RAS if it was not already configured. Click OK
Click Close to the Network dialog
Reboot the machine
Once the machine has rebooted it will operate as a Virtual Private Networkserver. Make sure any users who want to logon to it have RAS dial in rights (asconfigured using User Manager).
If you experience any problems with protocols make sure that the RAS serverhas the protocols configured, e.g. TCP/IP correctly. This can be done bystarting the Network Control panel applet, select Services, select RAS andclick Configure. Select the VPN port and click Network. You can then configureTCP/IP etc., ensure there are no problems with addresses etc.
Extra VPN connections can also be configured by clicking Add and selectingVPN2, VPN3 etc. You can only have simultaneous VPN connections for the numberof VPN devices on the server.
