How do I create multiple Public Folder trees?

A. Exchange 2000 lets you create multiple root Public Folder trees that are useful for administrators who want separate hierarchies for internal and external users and users from different groups.
By default, when you install Exchange 2000, the system creates a default public folder tree, Public Folders, which contains an Internet Newsgroups public folder. To create a new public folder tree, perform the following steps:
Start the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) System Manager snap-in (Start, Programs, Microsoft Exchange, System Manager).
Expand the Administrative Group that you want to add the new Public Folder root to (you might have only one).
Right-click the Folders container, and select New, Public Folder Tree from the context menu.
The system will display the Properties dialog box. On the General tab, give the tree a name (e.g., Private Folders).
Enter an administrative note on the Details tab.
Click OK.
The next task is to create a public store that the new public folder will use for storage:
Start the MMC System Manager snap-in again.
Expand the Administrative Group you created the Public Folder tree in.
Expand the Servers container and the server that will house the store.
Right-click the storage group to which you will add the public store (e.g., First Storage Group) and select New, Public Store from the context menu.
On the General tab, type a name for the store. Good practice dictates that you add the server name as part of the name—e.g., "Private Store (Morpheus)."
In the Associated public folder tree area, click Browse.
Select the Public Folder root you created and click OK.

The system will display a dialog box confirming the creation and ask whether you want the system to mount the public folder store. Click Yes.
The system will mount the store (this process might take a few minutes) and display a confirmation dialog box. Click OK.
To confirm that everything has worked properly, right-click the created Public Folder root and select Properties. The General tab will show the stores in use.
