A. Web sites use cookies to hold certain information about your activity so the sites can track your use and tailor their content to meet your needs. Cookies are stored in the %USERPROFILE%Local SettingsTemporary Internet Files folder. To remove a cookie, you can simply select the appropriate file and delete it. The preferred (long-winded) approach is as follows:

  1. Start Internet Explorer (IE).

  2. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.

  3. Select the General tab.

  4. Under Temporary Internet Files, click Settings.

  5. Click View Files to get into the Temporary Internet Files folder.

  6. Select the cookie to delete (it will be of the form [email protected]).

  7. Click Del.

  8. Click OK to the confirmation.

  9. Close the IE dialog box.

  10. Close all dialog boxes.
