Q. How can I assign a ZAP file?

A. ZAP files are text files that can be used by Group Policy Software Installation to allow you to use Group Policy to deploy applications that don't use MSI files. Usually software can be published so that it shows as available in Add/Remove Programs or assigned, which allows the software to be automatically installed. ZAP files can only be published, not assigned. If you need to assign you need to look at an MSI file or other software deployment mechanism such as Microsoft System Center.
