10 Enterprise Automation Trends to Watch in 2022

It's been a big year for automation in the enterprise. Here’s what to watch as we finish out 2021 and head into 2022.

Tying in as it does with workplace shifts like AI adoption and digital transformation, enterprise automation was already on the rise when the COVID-19 pandemic hit North America early last year. But as millions moved to remote or hybrid work environments, and organizations looked for new ways to get work done safely, automation adoption ramped up.

In 2020-21, overall organization automation increased significantly, Workato found in its recent report detailing enterprise automation. Released in August 2021, Workato's W*rk Automation Index looked at the sector’s growth across industries and workplace functions.

The report’s findings give a sense of how automation adoption in the enterprise will have unfolded when 2021 is done, and also of what can be expected next year. Here are 10 of its most interesting insights into enterprise automation.
