Colocation, cloud and managed services provider Net Access has completed a 70,000 square foot expansion of its New Jersey data center. The new addition comes with 7.5 MW of usable UPS power and has capacity for 1,500 new cabinets. A grand opening ceremony in early May will offically launch the expansion.
Total footprint of the company’s Parsippany II New Jersey data center has more than doubled with the expansion to 120,000 square feet. The company said the addition was built in response to increasing enterprise demand for advanced data center colocation and managed hosting services.
Net Access is capable of providing up to 20 kW per cabinet for some high density needs and offers flat-rate, or metered power biling options. The data center is built adjacent to a New Jersey central power and light substation and has fiber links to other Net Access NY metro area data centers as well as carrier hotels. Parsippany is in close proximity to Manhattan.
"The New York metro data center market continues to experience healthy demand for colocation services, with an increasing number of companies looking for more robust service alternatives outside of Manhattan," stated Philbert Shih, managing director of structure research in a press release. "Quality inventory coming online in New Jersey is positioned to capture that demand from a number of enterprise verticals that will be looking not just for capacity but scalable capacity with the requisite power availability and density."
The latest New Jersey data center has redundant, modular electrical systems providing dual power systems for dual power feeds to every rack. The data center doesn’t rely on city water supply, using captured hot-air return in chimney-based systems.
"We built this data center from the ground up to the highest specifications, following best-in-class methodologies that we have learned from running data centers over the last 20 years," said Alex Rubenstein, Net Access co-founder and data center architect. "From location and accessibility to power density, cooling efficiency and redundancy, this center is designed to provide customers the security, resiliency and flexibility that they have come to expect from Net Access."
Net Access' FLEXServices platform offers colocation, cloud and managed services.
