When you attempt to configure Logon Security in the Advanced Security Settings dialog for a wireless or dial-up connection, the MD5-Challenge and Smart card or other certificate options are missing.

This behavior will occur if you upgraded to Windows XP SP1, or Windows XP SP2, from Windows 2000 SP4.

To resolve this problem:

1. Open a CMD.EXE window.

2. Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each line:

REG ADD HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesRasManPPPEAP4 /V RolesSupported /T REG_DWORD /F /D 10REG ADD HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesRasManPPPEAP13 /V RolesSupported /T REG_DWORD /F /D 2

3. Shutdown and restart Windows XP.
