If you receive an Access denied when viewing the list in FTP Service Properties for FTP, you probably don't have Full Control permissions for the SYSTEM account on the physical directories which the virtual directories map.

To fix the problem, use Windows NT Explorer or CACLS to grant Full Control for the SYSTEM account on the physical directories.
