IBM To Acquire Storage Company FilesX

IBM will acquire FilesX, a storage company that provides continuous data protection solutions. IBM intends to use the acquisition to IBM to offer end-to-end data protection for laptops, remote offices, and data centers.

IBM said that it will acquire FilesX, a privately-held storage company that provides continuous data protection solutions.

IBM intends to make FilesX technology part of its Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) family of products. The company expects to be able to use the technology to offer end-to-end data protection for laptops, remote offices, and data centers. FilesX solutions aid with recovery for Windows systems, Exchange, SQL Server, Oracle and other mission critical platforms.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed however IBM said that it expects the deal to close shortly.
