Q. I have a Realtek Semiconductor NIC on my Windows Server 2008 box with Hyper-V, and the system keeps crashing showing a blue screen. What’s wrong?

A. I had this problem, and when I ran the Debugging Tools for Windows to trace the problem, I found that the networking stack caused it. I replaced the Realtek driver that was included with the OS with an updated driver from Realtek; doing so fixed the problem. You can download the latest driver at http://www.realtek.com.tw/
