Maximum Hourly Recovery Points for Hyper-V Replica

Q: What is the maximum number of hourly recovery points possible in Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V Replica?

A: In addition to maintaining the current storage state of the replicated virtual machine (VM), Hyper-V Replica can also enable hourly recovery points which provide granularity to not only recover to the latest point-in-time, but also to go back a certain number of hours.

In Windows Server 2012, the maximum number of recovery points was 15, which meant it wasn't possible to have a full day's worth of hourly recovery points.

In Windows Server 2012 R2, the maximum number of recovery points has been increased to 24 to enable a full day's worth of recovery points.
