Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview Users to Get Update 1 Automatically Next Week

Announced just this week, Microsoft will begin delivering the first Update to Windows Phone 8.1 very soon. For those just getting Windows Phone 8.1 delivered by their chosen carriers, Update 1 will release in the coming months. But, for those still running the Developer Preview of Windows Phone 8.1, the Update will start delivering next week without any additional steps.

This was confirmed early this morning by Windows Phone VP, Joe Belfiore on Twitter:

To get the official, carrier approved Windows Phone 8.1 delivery, many Windows Phone users had to reset their phones back to Windows Phone 8 before 8.1 would be available, wiping out the Developer Preview bits. To be included in next week's rollout, Developer Preview will need to be reloaded from the Windows Phone store.
