Almost one-third of readers named Check Point Software Technologies' VPN-1 SecureClient as Best VPN. VPN solutions are a vital part of many organizations' security strategy for remote users, such as telecommuters and users in field offices. VPN-1 SecureClient is an enhanced version of the VPN-1 SecuRemote software that's included with Check Point VPN gateways. Like VPN-1 SecuRemote, VPN-1 SecureClient encrypts data that's transmitted from a remote PC or mobile device before the data is sent over the network, thereby protecting networks from unauthorized access. VPN-1 SecureClient includes additional features for client security and software management that let administrators enforce desktop security policies on remote clients and ensure that remote users can't reconfigure clients to circumvent corporate security policy. The product also provides multiple connectivity modes, which let a remote user appear to be in the office, connect remotely at a location that has limited Internet resources (e.g., a hotel), or remotely use applications such as Voice over IP (VoIP) or Internet conferencing.
