After garnering nearly 33 percent of the vote for Best Third-Party Authentication Device in Readers' Choice 2002 and more than 40 percent of the vote in Readers' Choice 2003, RSA Security's RSA SecurID makes its strongest showing yet in 2004 by winning the award for a third year with 55 percent of the vote. RSA SecurID is a two-factor user authentication solution that organizations rely upon to protect valuable network resources. RSA SecurID functions like an ATM card for the network, requiring users to identify themselves with two unique factors--something they know and something they have--before the RSA ACE/Server software grants them access.

The newest version of RSA SecurID--RSA SecurID for Microsoft Windows--is designed to help Microsoft enterprise customers ensure that only authorized users can access valuable desktop and network resources and to deliver simplified and consistent user logon. With RSA SecurID for Microsoft Windows, the user is prompted for his or her PIN and a one-time (rather than static) password upon logon. This authentication process remains the same even when the user is disconnected from the network.
