Strava Says Microsoft Health Accuracy Improvements Already in Place

The ongoing issue where whatever you sync with Microsoft Health using your Microsoft Band shows up as inaccurate in Strava is still in play, unfortunately. A couple weeks or so ago, a Strava moderator suggested the Microsoft would be making adjustments in August to fix the long-standing problem. August came and went with no announcement of any changes. August marks the first month in a long time that Microsoft hasn’t released a feature update for the Microsoft Band, indicating that the company is readying a massive update to coincide with the Band 3 launch in October.

According to a more recent post, the moderator, Elle Anderson, suggests that the fix is in place, despite a non-existent announcement:

There should be noticeable improvements (made by Microsoft Health a few weeks ago) in regard to the distance for recorded activities, especially indoor activities.

However there still seems to be a disconnect. Elle goes on to ask…

What are the other main complaints on this thread in regard to inconsistent data uploaded to Strava from Microsoft Health?

Well, considering the thread has been ongoing since July 2015, the full breadth of issues is not too difficult to see or locate.

Truth told, after over year of inaccurate results and lack of movement to resolve the problems, I’ve given up on Strava so I care less about the results. But, for many of you, Strava is still an important service.

Did you notice a difference? Is the Strava/Microsoft Health integration working better for you?
