A. Many people forego screen protectors because the protector's film slightly decreases screen visibility. Scratching does occur on a naked screen with everyday use of the normal stylus, but the scratches are very minor and difficult to see. For example, I noticed several minor scratches in my iPAQ screen after viewing the reflection of an external light source on the screen at an angle. Be aware that small particles on the screen or the tip of the stylus can scratch the screen, so a screen protector can save some wear and tear.
