On October 2, 2014 Juniper Networks divested Junos Pulse, a secure gateway and VPN offering, into a new entity, Pulse Secure, which simultaneously announced the acquisition of mobile application security company MobileSpaces. Pulse Secure begins as a new standalone vendor today as Siris Capital Group closes the purchase of the technology and team from Juniper.
