Quick Look: Lenovo Yoga 700

I like to review products by using them and beginning today I am incorporating the new Lenovo Yoga 700 into my daily routine as I take a closer look at the convertible 2-in-1 device over the next few weeks.

This will be my mobile device around the house, when I head out to my favorite coffee shop or for any travel I might have to do. There is no better way to really know and understand a device than to simply live with it every day.

Take a look at this gallery for a quick look at the hardware as it came out of the box. The last time I had a Lenovo Yoga in my house was a couple of years ago when I worked for Best Buy as a Microsoft Consultant and received a Yoga 11s as my work related device. I loved that device so I am looking forward to seeing what comes along with the Yoga 700.

Of course, my current daily laptop/convertible 2-in-1 driver right now is the HP Spectre x360 so that will also be a frame of reference for me as I use the new Yoga. In case you were wondering, the Yoga 700 is the successor to last years Yoga 3 14.

The specifications for the Yoga 700 I received for review are:

  • OS: Windows 10 Home Edition

  • CPU: 6th Generation Intel Core i5-6200U running at 2.30GHz

  • RAM: 8GB

  • Solid State Drive: 256GB

  • Networking: Wireless AC

  • Bluetooth 4.0

  • Screen: 14 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS

  • Touch: 10 Point

  • Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 520

  • Battery Life: Reported at 7 hours

  • Audio: Stereo Speakers with Dolby DS 1.0

  • Ports: Micro-HDMI - 1; USB 3.0 - 2; USB 2.0 - 1; Headphones; Power

  • 4-in-1 Card Reader (MMC, SDHC, SDXC, SD)

  • Height - .72 inches; Width - 13.19 inches; Depth - 9.04 inches; Weight - 3.52 pounds

I will be back with you in about three weeks with my full impressions of the Yoga 700.

In January 2010 my community contributions were recognized by Microsoft when I received my first Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award for the Windows Operating System. Since then I have been renewed as a Microsoft MVP each subsequent year since that initial award. I am also a member of the inaugural group of Windows Insider MVPs which began in 2016.
