Nokia Lumia 635 is Coming to AT&T Too

I've got good news and bad news for Windows Phone fans on AT&T: There is in fact a new Nokia Lumia handset coming to your wireless carrier this month, much earlier than I'd anticipated. The bad news? It's a low-end device, the Nokia Lumia 635.

Microsoft previously revealed plans to ship the Lumia 635 on T-Mobile in July. This low-end phone combines a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, a 4.5-inch ClearBlack screen running at 800 x 480, a paltry 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD expandability, and Nokia's SensorCore technology. It's a fine replacement for the Lumia 520/521. And while it does come with Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Cyan preinstalled, it's nothing along the lines of a Lumia 1020, 1520 or Icon/930.

And now it's coming to AT&T.

Starting July 25, you will be able to purchase the Nokia Lumia 635 through AT&T's GoPhone for $99.99 (or $79.99 online for now if you preorder). And starting August 8, you can purchase the handset from AT&T retail stores and online, along with free black or orange cover, for $139.99. Both prices are contract-free, or you can pay $5.84 per month for 18 months or $7 per month for 12 months through the Next subscription program. (Given the low cost and low-end nature of this device, I don't recommend doing that, however.)

You can learn more about the AT&T version of the Lumia 635 on the AT&T Wireless web site or via this short video.

I will be reviewing the Lumia 635 soon.
