Q. How do I install the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller under Windows Vista?

The Xbox 360 Wireless Controller comes with a CD-ROM that installs support for Windows XP; however, it won't run on Vista. For Vista support, go to http://www.microsoft.com/hardware and download the Vista version of the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller. After you install the driver, you can connect the wireless receiver.

You can view the status and testing of the wireless controller by using the Game Controllers Control Panel applet, as the figure shows. When you press the central Xbox 360 status button on the controller, you'll see the controller's status, as the figure shows.
