The biggest story of yesterday and why you should care today: The big one everyone is going to be talking about is the FBI asking US Magistrate Judge Sheri Pym to vacate her order compelling Apple to unlock an iPhone belonging to one of the shooters behind the December 2015's mass killing in San Bernardino, as the FBI apparently found a way to open the phone. The news now raises fresh questions about the security of Apple devices, and the story is ongoing.

Something to keep an eye on is the release of the Oculus Rift to customers this week. Four years in the making, the virtual reality headset and its slate of more than 30 games lands the same week as Microsoft Build, where journalists are being scheduled for hands-on demos of what's new with the Microsoft HoloLens. Stay tuned for apples-to-oranges comparisons of the two virtual reality experiences and headsets.
