How To: Reset Windows DisplayLink

Q. How can I reset DisplayLink device information on my Windows system?

A. If you are having problems with DisplayLink often you will need to update the DisplayLink software. However, it also helps to clear the monitor persistence information. This can be done by deleting the following registry keys then restarting the system:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlGraphicsDriversConfiguration

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlGraphicsDriversConnectivity
