With Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2), Microsoft added a number of new features, including direct message push over HTTP (which differs from the previous notification functionality for new messages, which previously used a Short Message Service--SMS--notification); enhanced security options, such as forcing certain criteria for passwords and remote/local device wipe); and Global Address List (GAL) lookup. To take advantage of these capabilities the mobile devices must be running Windows Mobile 5 and have the MSFP installed.
