EMC has teamed up with the four leading antivirus vendors to offer antivirus protection for its Celerra File Server, an enterprise-level Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution. Computer Associates (CA), McAfee, Symantec, and Trend Micro will all provide antivirus definitions for EMC's server-based antivirus scanner. The virus protection will provide users with centralized and scalable protection for enterprise storage data. Realtime protection will scan data as it's updated.

Virus protection has recently grown in importance because of the many high-profile viruses and worms that attackers have unleashed in the past few months. This new solution will help EMC provide customers with added protection to pre-existing investments.
