Enterprise Client Management Book Now Available

Last week, I told you about an upcoming book from Microsoft Press, written by a good friend of mine, Jeff Gilbert. That book, Enterprise Mobility Suite - Managing BYOD and Company-Owned Devices, is due to release to the masses in April. That book will be hugely popular simply because it’s the first of its kind for that topic.

April seems like a long time away, but it's not. However, last night I was made aware of another solid offering that's actually available to purchase today. The book, Enterprise Client Management: Using System Center 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2012 R2, deals less with the "cloudy" aspects of managing PCs and devices, but instead covers what companies are currently using today on-premises.

From the description:

Enterprise Client Management is packed with everything you need to efficiently manage Windows 7 or 8.1 clients in an enterprise environment. The book takes you through a complete scenario, including all the necessary preparations, for preparing the infrastructure and then deploying, patching, configuring, securing, backing up, and managing the Windows clients (and other devices). In this scenario, you use management tools available in Windows Server 2012 R2 and the System Center 2012 R2 products, combined with Microsoft Intune.

The book is a bit pricey for only 382 pages and it only comes in print – there's no Kindle version yet. But, the authors are solid and knowledgeable experts. Andreas Stenhall, an MVP and technical architect, works for Coligo and Tim Nilimaa-Svärd has spoken at the now defunct Microsoft Management Summit and works as a product manager for Lumagate. Both are based on Sweden.

You can find the book for around $42 on Amazon: Enterprise Client Management: Using System Center 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2012 R2
