Mobile Dashboard Server 2012 enables developers to create interactive dashboards as Windows Runtime (WinRT), Silverlight, or Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) Visual Studio projects and deliver them to any device via automatic HTML5 conversion by the ComponentArt MDS runtime.
New features in Mobile Dashboard Server 2012 include
a new Mobile UI control set (11 new controls)
new security and authentication modules
a streamlined application development model
expanded Visual Studio project templates and product documentation
Using ComponentArt Mobile Dashboard Server 2012 in Visual Studio
ComponentArt Mobile Dashboard Server 2012 is geared toward enterprise mobile BI users. Using the product, developers create dashboards as XAML apps, which can be run under on Silverlight, WPF, or Windows 8 WinRT, using Visual Studio and ComponentArt Data Visualization. The BI apps can connect to any ODBC or web service-based data provider (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL Server, Oracle). Once an app is finished, it is deployed to Mobile Dashboard Server, and the MDS runtime converts the app to HTML5.
