When Microsoft first launched the Xbox One, its intent was unclear. Customers just wanted a gaming system – what Microsoft promoted instead was a central entertainment system. And, while the Xbox One is still essentially that, Microsoft has refocused on gamers to produce better sales and bigger adoption of its next generation console.
To further solidify its gaming turnaround Microsoft has been working to ensure that the Xbox One gaming community could connect easily and also participate in perceived community events. To that end, the company has had an Xbox One Community Calendar app in beta for a few months.
Xbox’s Larry Hyrb, aka, Major Nelson, has now announced that the app has exited beta and is now available for every Xbox One owner.
