Blackberry Completes Acquisition of Good Technology

As Blackberry continues its struggle for life, today the company is announcing the completion of the acquisition of Good Technology. Good Technology, founded in 1996, is one of the surviving mobile security software companies that has yet to be acquired and integrated into a larger organization. Today’s announcement, makes the market for standalone mobile solutions companies even smaller.

Blackberry intends to integrate Good Technology solutions right away and across all platforms, apps, and services.

According to the announcement, customers can expect the following…

  • The broadest set of options to meet the full cross-platform needs of an enterprise for EMM, including support for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows including Apple DEP/VPP, Samsung KNOX Workspace and Android for Work.

  • The most secure container solution in the market; used on millions of devices around the world to meet the highest security requirements, protecting data independent of device, app, user or location.

  • Secure mobile communication and collaboration applications from both worlds including Good Work all-in-one secure collaboration app, WatchDox for secure sync and file share, AtHoc for crisis communication, BBM Protected for messaging, Good Access for secure mobile browsing, Good for Salesforce1 for secure mobile CRM and an ecosystem of more than 2000 ISV and custom mobile apps.

Blackberry is waiting until a webinar and Q&A on November 19 to fill in existing customers of both companies about the acquisition.
