Here’s our review of some of this week’s noteworthy links for the data center industry:

ViaWest launches KINECTed NAS.  ViaWest announced the addition of a Network Attached Storage (NAS) product, delivered in partnership with industry leader, NetApp. The NAS solution is a part of its KINECTed Storage family and delivers simplified data and infrastructure management, coupled with improved storage efficiency.  “We’re expanding our storage portfolio because efficiency and rapid access to data is critical to help our customers compete in today’s dynamic marketplace,” explains Jason Carolan, Chief Technology Officer for ViaWest. “Our customers need a wide range of storage options along with flexible price points and performance characteristics for today’s growing data. We are proud to offer our new NAS solution with our partner, NetApp, a company offering innovative, best-of-breed storage technology and our shared commitment to putting the customer first.”

CoreLink selected by Maxxiss Communications. CoreLink announced the addition of Maxxiss Communications to its growing client roster. Maxxiss is a provider of managed data center technology, virtualization and strategic private cloud architecting and services to small- to mid-sized hospitality, finance, banking and software company clients. CoreLink was selected for its guaranteed continuous network connectivity and data accessibility under its 100 percent uptime SLA. "CoreLink’s experienced team and strong service commitment is critical to our ability to ensure that our customers receive the same stellar support, incident management and network capabilities on which we founded our company,” said Sam Traznik Maxxiss President. CoreLink’s solutions will serve as the foundation for Maxxiss’ managed cloud computing and managed security, intrusion detection and prevention, and web application firewall services will safeguard and guarantee the integrity and safety of Maxxiss’ client data.

Interxion selected by Gigas.  Interxion (INXN) announced that Gigas, a Spanish company specialized in providing cloud hosting services, has decided to host its cloud service platform in Interxion’s Madrid data center, from where it offers its services to its clients. Witnessing rapid growth, Gigas needed to be part of a cloud ecosystem offering excellent connectivity and scalability for its cloud hosting service platform. Interxion was selected because it could offer a quality service that could adapt to its needs and growth, as well as access to Interxion’s connectivity, high availability, and reliability. “The Interxion data centre offers us guaranteed high power density and optimal conditions for the cooling and energy availability, which is essential to us due to the high levels of power required for our cloud platform. Our platform is located inside a ‘cube’, a cold aisle containment enclosure, providing optimised cooling along with enhanced security. The connectivity-rich environment and direct access from Interxion to the Spanish Internet Exchange ESpanix allow us to have network choice and offer competitive services aligned with our business goals”, said José Antonio Arribas, Founder and CTO of Gigas.
