SQL Server advocate Michael Yocca, a SQL Server data warehousing and OLAP consultant for Ace Database, died February 28 from injuries sustained in a snowmobiling accident.

SQL Server advocate Michael Yocca, a SQL Server data warehousing and OLAP consultant for Ace Database, died February 28 from injuries sustained in a snowmobiling accident. As a consultant, Yocca implemented many projects using SQL Server and regularly spoke about SQL Server’s technical architecture.Yocca wrote articles for SQL Server Magazine and SQL Server Professional and cowrote and served as technical editor for several SQL Server books. In addition, he served as president of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, SQL Server Users Group for the past five years.The Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS) has established a memorial fund for Yocca’s three children.
