Primavera Systems announced that Chevron’s Pascagoula, Mississippi, Refinery will standardize on Primavera Enterprise as its enterprise project management software suite. The plant will rely on Primavera Enterprise to plan and control projects and resources in time-sensitive operations critical to refinery success. The refinery is using Primavera Enterprise to manage maintenance and capital projects simultaneously to leverage shared personnel and equipment and incorporate the operations into a single enterprisewide project plan. For example, refinery field personnel can modify schedules as circumstances change, and executive management can view and analyze up-to-the-minute data. Such flexibility helps management complete plant turnarounds ahead of schedule and budget.“Primavera Enterprise enables organizations to manage mission-critical projects with minimum resources and maximum efficiency,” says David Pinski, Primavera Enterprise product manager. “This demonstrates why project-centered organizations like Chevron Pascagoula Refinery are turning to our enterprise-scale project management solutions. They need realtime insight into their entire portfolio of projects and resources, insight that goes beyond planning and scheduling only.”The Pascagoula Refinery, which began operations in 1963, is Chevron’s largest refinery and one of the top 10 largest refineries in the United States. It processes 295,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 365 days a year.
