Microsoft on Tuesday announced a February 27, 2008 launch for several important upcoming products: Windows Server 2008 (codenamed Longhorn), Visual Studio 2008 (codenamed Orcas), and SQL Server 2008 (codenamed Katmai). The products will be launched simultaneously at an event in Los Angeles, Microsoft says.

"Together Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008 provide a secure and reliable enterprise platform, the foundation for the next generation of Web-based service applications, and support for virtualization and business intelligence," a Microsoft statement reads. Microsoft is highlighting each of these solutions at its Worldwide Developer Conference, underway now in Denver, Colorado.
