JSI Tip 10180. The installation of the DTS redistributable package for SQL Server 2005 on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 fails with 'Impossible to register the module ...'?

When you attempt to install the DTS (Data Transformation Services) redistributable package for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 computer, the installation fails with:

Impossible to register the module :Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server80 ToolsBinndtsui.DLL. HRESULT -2147024770.

NOTE: -2147024770 means The specified module could not be found.

This behavior will occur unless MDAC 2.8 is installed, as earlier versions of MDAC do not contains the required Sqlunirl.dll file.

To workaround this behavior, install or upgrade to MDAC 2.8 or later.
