To prevent the Desktop Cleanup Wizard from running every 60 days, and to prevent the user from running it, you can:

- Use Group Policy.

- Use the registry.

To use Group Policy, navigate to User Configuration / Administrative Templates / Desktop and Enable the Remove the Desktop Cleanup Wizard item.

NOTE: This GPO requires at least Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003.

To use the registry, see tip 5793 How can I configure the Windows XP Desktop Cleanup Wizard using the registry?
