The Remove My Documents icon from desktop Group Policy at User ConfigurationAdministrativeTemplatesDesktop can be used to remove the My Documents icon from the desktop, Windows Explorer, programs that use Windows Explorer, and the standard Open dialog box.
If the policy is Not configured, you can Add Value name {450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}, a REG_DWORD data type, at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesNonEnum. A data value of 0, the default, displays the My Documents icon. A data value of 1, removes the icon.
