JSI Tip 1567. How do I prevent the OE icon from cluttering my desktop when I install IE 5?

To prevent the Outlook Express (OE) icon from installing on your desktop when you install Internet Explorer 5 (IE 5):

1. Dowload the IEAK.

2. Install IE using the IEAK. During stage 3 of the installation, choose the option that does not make IE your default browser.

3. After the install, make sure IE asks to be the default browser by clicking Tools / Internet Options / Programs and checking Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser. Click Apply and OK.
