IT/Dev Connections 2016 Speaker Highlight: Peter Daalmans

Part of an ongoing series, we're highlighting the excellent speakers we have handpicked to present phenomenal and extremely valuable content at the IT/Dev Connections conference. Want more? Get the Insider’s Scoop About IT/Dev Connections 2016 on September 8!

This speaker highlight is Peter Daalmans.

Peter's IT/Dev Connection sessions:

Recently, we asked Peter to give us a little information about himself. Here's what he shared:

ITDC: Give us a brief introduction to you.

Peter: Well my name is Peter Daalmans and I live in a city called Breda in the Netherlands. I am working for IT-Concern as a senior Technical Consultant in Enterprise Client Management and Enterprise Mobility. Wrote three books and I speak often at local and international user group meetings and conferences. While being active in the community, Microsoft awarded me as an MVP five times now. Read more here: ref.ms/aboutme.

ITDC: Describe the sessions you are presenting and why you feel the topic is important.

Peter: This year I will be presenting three breakout sessions about managing apple devices with Intune and Configuration Manager, how to cope with the rapid release cycle of Configuration Manager, and how to use Azure RMS. On Monday I will be delivering a workshop with three fellow Enterprise Mobility MVP’s.

ITDC: What should attendees expect to be able to take away from your sessions?

Peter: All sessions will be full of demos and knowledge gathered from the field, while implementing solutions with Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune.

ITDC: What is your primary reason to be excited about IT/Dev Connections?

Peter: I love IT/Dev Connections because it’s great community! I love to be part of this community by sharing my knowledge and learning from my peers.

ITDC: What is the one key technology you believe is changing the technology industry right now?

Peter: There is so much changing these days, if I need to choose; I love Cortana. What “she” is capable of is incredible, can’t wait to see and hear more of “her”!

(ITDC side-note: We have a must-attend Cortana session delivered by Scott Peterson. Scott is the owner of popular Windows and Windows Mobile development company, Liquid Daffodil. The session is entitled: “Hacking Cortana.” It runs Wednesday, October 12, 2016: 9:15 AM - 10:30 AM. I’m sure Peter will be in attendance!)

ITDC: Assuming attendees want to know, what’s your favorite, non-technical hobby or pastime? What’s one thing that totally irks you.

Peter: Besides my family and of course Australia, I have another passion and that is our local football club NAC Breda. Together with some great friends I am running a Museum about our club, for this we founded a foundation of which I am the chairman.

IT/Dev Connections runs from October 10 – October 13, at the ARIA Resort in Las Vegas. IT/Dev Connections has been designed specifically for IT, DevOps, and Developers. You can read all about what IT/Dev Connections offers you HERE.
