How do I disable Task Manager?

A. This can be done using the registry as follows

  1. Start the Registry Editor

  2. HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftwindowscurrentversionPolicies

  3. If the System key does not exist create it

  4. Add a new value of type DWORD called DisableTaskMgr and set to 1

  5. Exit registry editor

This can also be done using the policy editor

  1. Start the Policy editor

  2. Select the User, or edit the default User

  3. Goto Shell/Restrictions and select "remove Taskbar from user"

To remove Task Manager for all users just rename taskmgr.exe to somethingelse, or if it is on a NTFS partition you can set the permissions so normalusers cannot access it.
