How can I modify the grace timeout for password protected screensavers?

A. When a password protected screen saver starts there is a graceperiod before a password needs to be entered to deactivate. This can be changedas follows:

  1. Start the registry editor (regedit.exe)

  2. Move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinlogon

  3. From the edit menu select New - String Value from the Edit menu

  4. Enter a name of ScreenSaverGracePeriod and press Enter

  5. Double click and set to the number of seconds grace period. Click OK

  6. Close the registry editor

  7. Reboot the machine
