Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 firmware/driver packages released by Microsoft

This week Microsoft's newest devices from their Surface line will become widely available as the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book hit retail shelves and the doorsteps of enthusiasts thanks to pre-orders over the last few weeks.

These devices are already running Windows 10 so there are likely some updates available when they come out of the box and get setup by their new owners.

Although every user will not need the entire package of firmware and hardware drivers the day their new device arrives, updates will be available on  Windows Update, these packages from Microsoft can be handy as backups or for those who may be imaging the new Surface devices for their company.

If that is the case then these two new downloads are worth bookmarking.

Here are the links and details:

Here is the description:

Cumulative and current firmware and drivers for the Surface Book/Surface Pro 4. This firmware and driver package contains drivers for all of the components in the Surface Book/Surface Pro 4, as well as updates to the system firmware that have been released via Windows Update. These drivers and firmware are compatible with Windows 10, including Enterprise versions. The driver MSI and ZIP files include all of the drivers and firmware needed to deploy custom images of Windows on your Surface devices. For convenience, the Ethernet dongle drivers are included as separate packages, but are also included in the ZIP and MSI. Additionally, the WinTab driver is provided for those professionals needing WinTab compatibility with certain Surface Pen enabled applications.

Did you order one of these new devices? Let us know what you are expecting from the new hardware when you receive it.
