The latest version of Sonasoft’s SonaSafe for SQL Server has been released. SonaSafe for SQL Server is a high availability and disaster recovery product that automates the failover process and lets you create standby plans to ensure your data will be continually updated in the event of a system failure or disaster.
You can fail over to your redundant SQL Server with one click. The standby SQL Server can be on-premises or at a remote location; this product has no distance limitations.
According to Sonasoft, SonaSafe for SQL Server 5.0 offers many new features, including a new web-based interface, improved manageability, and enhanced replication and recovery capabilities. You can also create predefined templates that can be used multiple times. In addition, SonaSafe for SQL Server 5.0 lets you add new databases to pre-existing standby plans automatically. Those of you who use SQL Server for reporting might be interested to know that SonaSafe for SQL Server 5.0 lets you use a read-only standby SQL Server for reporting purposes.
With SonaSafe for SQL Server, you can fail over or fail back without having to perform a full backup or restore. You can also do a point-of-failure or point-in-time recovery using this product. This product can also backup and restore your virtualized SQL Servers. SonaSafe for SQL Server supports SQL Server 2008, 2005, 2000, and 7.0, as well as one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-one failover scenarios.
