How to create a password by generating a random string of text in System Center Orchestrator.

A: To create a random string of text, use the Generate Random Text activity that's available under the Utilities activity group within System Center Orchestrator 2012. After the Generate Random Text is placed on your runbook, it can be configured with a length and a minimum number of lower and upper-case characters, in addition to numbers and symbols (see screen shot below).

The Generate Random Text activity is then linked to another activity that can use the generated random text. To do so,right-click in the property to use the random text, such as a password property, and select Subscribe, Published Data. Then select Generate Random Text as the source activity, and choose the Random text (see screen shot below).
