Microsoft Remote Desktop Preview Gets New Features in Latest Update

For those IT Pros intent on remotely managing devices from just about anywhere, the Microsoft Remote Desktop Preview enables the ability to connect to remote systems and share the screen.

The app's first release was pretty solid, and though still in Preview (uh, beta), Microsoft continues to improve it. A new release yesterday brings some features that most will find useful.

Here's what's new:

  • Transparent Live Tile

  • Pin saved remote desktops to the Start screen

  • Predictive text and word flow for virtual keyboarding

  • Feature to disable thumbnails on the remote screen

  • Bug fixes and improvements

If you have it installed already, you can just enjoy the update. But, if you've yet to try it out, or removed it for some reason, grab it from the Windows Phone store by searching for 'Microsoft Remote Desktop Preview' or clicking the link:
