Why does my Windows XP computer crash when I use the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keyboard sequence to unlock the computer?

A. When you unlock your computer using the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keyboard sequence, XP can crash if both of the following conditions are true:

  • You've installed the Multilingual User Interface Pack.

  • The Language bar was positioned in the top left area of the screen when you locked the computer.

To work around this problem, move the Language bar away from the top left corner of the screen before you lock the computer.
