Q: Device Manager shows two devices on my Surface Pro 3 that I don't recognize. What are they?

A: On a Surface Pro 3 on which you've installed your own OS, you might see the following two devices:

  • MS-ABTP

  • MS-TCC

ABTP is Automatic Bluetooth Pairing Protocol; TCC is Tethering Control Channel Protocol. You need both of these devices, for wireless communication to other devices.
