I have a local Microsoft Store, but it’s about 45 minutes away – and that’s 45 minutes on a good day with normal traffic. I also have a couple Best Buy stores locally, one to the North and one to the South of me and each is about 20 minutes away. That’s really not that bad of a trek. But, right smack in the center of my town, there’s a Staples. Staples isn’t the first store you think of for computers, tablets, or other devices, but I’ve had good success there over the years.
So, it’s great to hear that starting today, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is available for purchase at select Staples stores and online at Staples.com starting at $899 (normal price). Additionally, Staples will price match competitor’s prices with Staples Price Match Guarantee.
Sure, you can purchase your Surface Pro 4 from Microsoft.com or from Amazon.com, but there’s definitely a lot of value in being able to physically see and test a device before purchase. And, above that, buying from a brick-and-mortar location gives you a point of reference for support should something go wrong, or the boxed product prove to be defective.
The company has yet to suggest that it will also be offering the Surface Book and its online store doesn’t have Microsoft’s self-styled Windows notebook in inventory.
