How do I remove the Windows 2000 Service Pack Uninstall folder and Control Panel entry?

A. If you initially chose the option that would let you uninstall a Win2K service pack but now want to remove the uninstall folder and the Add/Remove Programs entry, perform the following steps:
Delete the %SystemRoot%$NtServicePackUninstall$ folder (because this whole folder is compressed, it will be blue if you opted to show encrypted files in a different color).
Next, you need to delete the Add/Remove Programs entry. You can do this in one of two ways.
Alternative 1: Uninstall service pack
Start Add/Remove Programs (Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove, Programs).
Select Windows 2000 Service Pack 1.
Click Change/Remove. You will see the message "An error occurred while trying to remove Windows 2000 Service Pack 1. It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 from the Add/Remove programs list?"
Click Yes to remove it.
Alternative 2: Delete the Win2K SP1 Uninstall program entry from the registry
Start a registry editor (e.g., regedit.exe).
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall.
Delete the Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 entry.
