To edit an Active Directory (AD) Group Policy Object (GPO) from a Windows XP computer, you need to install adminpak.msi, which includes the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. You can obtain adminpak.msi from any Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 Server installation (or installation CD-ROM). After you install adminpak.msi, run mmc.exe from a command prompt. When a blank MMC console loads, select File, Add/Remove snap-in. Click Add, select Active Directory Users and Computers, and click Add again. Click Close, then click OK.
