Microsoft Azure (IaaS) Cost Estimator Tool Exits Beta

Released into beta in June, the Microsoft Azure Cost Estimator Tool is an installable tool to profile existing on-premises infrastructure and then estimates the cost of running apps and services in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. The tool supports virtualization solutions Hyper-V, System Center Virtual Machine Manager, vCenter, and ESXi and supports Windows and Linux physical machines.

The tool has now been released in its final form, which is good considering the beta was set to expire on September 1st. The tool can be installed and run on Windows Vista up to Windows Server 2012 R2.

Note that the tool won't actually perform migrations, only profile the selected environment and produce reports showing the costs of running in Microsoft Azure for 30 days.
